I am a Writer, Teacher and Yogini. Underscoring all that I am and all that I’m yet to be is my unwavering belief that it’s every human being’s birthright to live a life they love, the life their very heart and soul were born to live.
It’s my mission in this life to help others recognize and embrace this truth, to Claim the Authentic Story of Your Life.
Until I began to awaken from a fairytale that didn’t belong to me, I didn’t know that circumstances and conditions don’t have the power to dictate the stories of our lives unless we give them the power to do so.
I robotically lived the first decades of my life being, doing, having and giving what I thought I was supposed to be, do, have and give, what everyone else wanted for me and from me: Straight-A student, high school class president, college honors graduate, progressive career in a Fortune 500 company, married to a salt-of-the-Earth guy who my family and friends loved, a charming house with the most coveted zip code in town.
Yet in spite of the outward projections of success, a voice deep within me began to speak louder and louder: “This is someone else’s fairytale, Lois, not yours.”
Crap. If that wasn’t the story of my life, than what was? The realization that I’d have to figure out the life I do want and make big changes to live that life was almost daunting enough to paralyze me, but inaction simply wasn’t a choice. My Soul had had it marching to the tune of others’ drums, and I couldn’t have fallen back in line if I’d tried. The time had come to discover my own beat.
Every one of us can live a life we love. This I know because I’m doing it. I also know from experience that sometimes we need help figuring it out, and it’s okay to ask for help.
But I needed help and structure to move from the only life I’d known into one I had yet to discover. I had no clue where to even begin, and by Divine grace, I discovered my first personal coach. There were actually people trained and equipped to help people like me figure this out?! Get outta here!
And so began the deep dive into my personal journey of transformation, a lifelong journey of every day becoming more and more the woman I am in my very heart and Soul.
The transformation that I’ve experienced on my own journey has been so profound that it inspired me to become a certified life coach in order to help others find the way on their journeys.
Every one of us can live a life we love. This I know because I’m doing it. I also know from experience that sometimes we need help figuring it out, and it’s okay to ask for help. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the benefit of gifted coaches and mentors who have helped me find my way and who continue to guide me.
We do have a say in the story we live. In fact, the story we claim is the only story that matters, so let’s make it count.
