It’s official, I’ve outted myself. I’ve put myself out into the world as a coach and guide to help others create lives they love, to Claim the Authentic Story of Their Lives.
While I’d spent most of my life running from my deepest calling to write before I returned to my roots, I averted a similar, unintended detour away from this calling to serve. Thankfully it didn’t take me nearly as long to make this course correction as I’d taken with my writing.
Since earning my life coach certification last year, my crafty mind had come up with what seemed like convincing enough reasons not to put myself out into the world, the usual party crashers of time limitations, over extending myself, fear of failure, etc.
Fortunately, I’d ridden the rodeo of fear enough times before to recognize these self-imposed obstacles for what they really were – saboteurs trying to keep me from doing what I’d really love. After all, if I never tried, there would be zero chance of failure, right?
At first I dared to challenge this illogic with what I thought would be a small step, to work with a limited number of clients. I was quickly humbled by the impact I had in helping my clients transform their lives, and I’m grateful for the deep sense of fulfillment from the opportunity to serve them. How could I not offer to serve in this capacity if I could help make a difference between someone loving and loathing their life?
It’s my deepest belief that each and every one of us is here on this good Earth for a purpose, a purpose that’s predetermined by our innate gifts and talents.
We each have a unique calling to use our gifts and talents to be the best versions of ourselves we can be and to bring forth the contributions we and we alone can bring to the world.
Whether it’s being an award-winning performer, a brilliant scientist, the consummate stay-at-home-parent, the friendliest bus driver that all the kids love, or a life-changing coach, each and every one of us does make a difference by bringing our best to the world.
By creating and living lives we love, we bring more joy and inspiration for others to do the same.
We each have an infinitely wise inner voice eager to guide us along our destined path, but sometimes we create distractions or allow outside influences to muffle that voice or even render it completely inaudible.
To claim the authentic story of our lives, we must stay vigilant in our attunement to our inner voice and trust that it always speaks for our highest good, for our highest purpose.
If you have a strong yearning to do something, don’t tune out – tune in and listen intently.
While initially it might seem crazy on the surface because it looks out of alignment with life as you’ve known, you can bet that your intuition is trying to bring your attention to what would actually give you more life, that which would make you feel more alive.
In the wise words of Jim Carrey, you can fail at what you don’t want, so you might as well take a chance at what you’d love.
